In simple words

Live betting (also called in-play betting) means placing a wager while a match or event is already happening. For example, you might bet on the next goal in a football match after it has started, or on the next wicket in a cricket game. Odds change during the event as the action unfolds.

How it differs from pre-match betting

  • Pre-match: You bet before the event starts. Odds are fixed at the time you place the bet.
  • Live / in-play: You bet during the event. Odds update constantly. You can bet on new markets (e.g. next over in cricket, next corner in football).

We do not offer or recommend any real-money betting. This is only to explain the idea.

Things to keep in mind

  • Live betting can be faster and more intense. Some people find it harder to stick to limits.
  • Odds change quickly. You may be tempted to place more bets in a short time.
  • It is still gambling. You can lose money. Only bet where legal and within a budget you can afford to lose.

Responsible behaviour

If you choose to bet where it is legal, set a budget and time limit before you start. Do not chase losses. If live betting feels out of control, take a break and seek help. See our Responsible Gambling page.
