What are odds?
Odds are a way of expressing the probability of an outcome. They are used in sports and other events. Understanding them helps you stay informed – this site does not display or offer real odds or betting.
Common formats
- Decimal odds: Often used in India and Europe. A number like 2.50 means a potential return of 2.50 times your stake (including stake).
- Fractional odds: Common in the UK. For example 3/1 means you could win 3 units for every 1 unit staked.
- Moneyline (American): Uses plus (+) and minus (−) to show underdogs and favourites.
Why it matters
Knowing how odds work helps you compare information and understand risk. We do not recommend or facilitate real-money betting. If you choose to engage with any form of betting, do so only where legal and within your limits.
Stay responsible
Set a budget, never chase losses, and seek help if betting becomes a problem. See our Responsible Gambling page for resources.
